Like so many others in this economic recession, Gallery RFD, is faced with a funding cut that threatens to close our doors. The staff of RFD respectfully requests your donations for the continuation of art education, community outreach, and exhibition opportunities in Emanuel County.

RFD, located in the downtown Arts District of Swainsboro, and a project of the Georgia Rural Economic Development Center at East Georgia College and proud partner of the Emanuel Arts Council holds a mission that is 3 fold:

1. To stimulate business and economy in the downtown area through the arts
2. To provide education opportunities with emphasis on middle and high school students.
3. To provide the City of Swainsboro with cultural resources such as the Second Saturday Art Stroll and live music.

In the gallery space itself, RFD is proud to have mounted cutting-edge exhibitions that have attracted national and international attention alike. Gallery RFD has instituted the Second Saturday Art Stroll which has generated thousands of valuable tourist dollars, instituted an after school art program for high risk middle school students, curated more than 60 art exhibitions, produced nearly 40 concerts, and has generally enriched the cultural fabric of Swainsboro and Emanuel County through exhibition, education, and outreach. RFD’s dedication has not only impacted the immediate community of Swainsboro and Emanuel County, but the entire southern art and music scene as well. We invite you to help in preserving this invaluable resource to the rural Georgia art scene by making a donation to keep Gallery RFD open.
