The Downtown Commission for Arts and Commerce (DCAC) supports the Art Stroll and the arts in Emanuel County by sponsoring musical acts and performances during the Second Saturday Art Stroll. The DCAC is a group of concerned businesses and organizations made up of Daniel’s Chevrolet, Mill Creek Foundation, the GREDC at East Georgia College, The Chamber of Commerce, Radio Jones, The Emanuel Arts Council, the Forest Blade, Nordson, and Gallery RFD.

The Emanuel Arts Council (EAC) allowed Gallery RFD to use its non-profit status to receive monies from the GREDC. The EAC was the umbrella organization for the incubator project for its first year. The EAC, Executive Director Bobbie Daughtry, and the Board under President Jeb Cameron has been supportive of Gallery RFD and has been a major partner in making the Art Stroll a success for all of Emanuel County.

 

The Emanuel Artist’s Guild (EAG) has been a very supportive group to Gallery RFD. The group supports the Art Stroll, Monthly Critiques, and exhibitions by submitting new and exciting work. The EAG offers its time, resources, and support for all of RFD’s events and programming.

If you are interested in learning more about the Emanuel Artist’s Guild, please make sure to visit them during their monthly meetings every second Tuesday at 7pm at the Emanuel Arts Council Building at 303 N. Green Street.

 

East Georgia College (EGC) and its foundation helped Gallery RFD carpet its facility. The college, its faculty, its staff, its students have been very supportive with their advertising and patronizing of Gallery RFD events. EGC, under the guidance of President John Black has played an active and positive role in promoting the arts as a viable and integral part of what make Swainsboro a special place to live.

 

 

The Forest Blade is Swainsboro's weekly newspaper, also available online. The Blade has shown incredible support by highlighting Art events in our community and helping promote the Art Stroll.

The Fire House Gallery in Louisville, GA has been supportive of Gallery RFD’s mission by promoting events in Emanuel County on their website, during their exhibitions, and in their newsletter. Gallery RFD is fortunate to have supporters of the arts and its mission in Jefferson County.

 

 

 

The Georgia Rural Economic Development Center (GREDC) currently funds the first phase of Swainsboro’s Art Incubator Project: Gallery RFD. The GREDC, under Director Jack Bareford, has been incredibly supportive of the gallery, its outreach programming, and in navigating RFD’s economic development initiatives.

 

 

Harvey’s donates cups, drinks, plates, and napkins to Gallery RFD for the artist’s receptions. As one of the only local grocery stores in our region, Gallery RFD is thankful for their support and interest in the emerging art scene in our county.

 

 

Meinhardt Vineyards supplies Gallery RFD with Muscatine Wines from their winery in Statesboro, GA. Meinhardt vineyards is dedicated to their quality products and have kindly donated both white and red wines for the gallery’s monthly receptions.

 

 

Radio Jones supports the arts in Emanuel County by conducting interviews with musicians from the DCAC, promoting the Second Saturday Art Stroll , and doing live broadcasts from downtown Swainsboro. Radio Jones is eager to promote and support Swainsboro’s unique art scene and is interested in building new outlets for local musicians, artists, and performers.

The River Roots Visual Arts Alliance is a group of artists based in Dublin, GA. They promote opportunities in the visual arts including exhibitions, educational and outreach programs. To learn more about them, please visit their website at www.dublinartistsguild.org.

 

Stillmoreroots played a very important part in creating the Art Incubator in Swainsboro, GA. The group created ArtCore and was an inspiration for making Gallery RFD a reality. Several of its members played important roles in the formation and upkeep of Gallery RFD: Bridget Conn developed RFD’s website, Jean Gray Drake helped write the grant for RFD, Desmal Purcell is on the Art Stroll Committee, Mel Cartaya helped with renovations, and Bryan Ghiloni and Anthony Faris are Co-Directors of the gallery.

 

Swainsboro’s Chamber of Commerce has played an integral and supportive role in the gallery’s efforts to revitalize downtown Swainsboro. The Chamber, under the guidance of Director Bill Rogers, is interested in expanding opportunities for residents of Emanuel County.

 

The City of Swainsboro has been very supportive of Gallery RFD and the Art Incubator project by attending, promoting, and actively participating in the Second Saturday Art Stroll. The City has also worked with Gallery RFD on grants that promote the arts in Emanuel County. The Mayor, Charles Schwabe, is enthusiastic about revitalizing downtown Swainsboro.
